Izabella Shealy is a self-taught painter whose work moves between landscape, memory, and the residue of place. Working in oil on canvas and wood panel, she draws on a childhood in California and the Mountain West — returning often to light as a subject in itself, and to scenes that hold more than they reveal.
She lives and works in Brooklyn and maintains a studio in Saugerties, New York.
